Welcome to Career Exploration & Success Career Presentation Toolkit for Rutgers Faculty and Staff
The Office of Career Exploration and Success is pleased to offer faculty and staff a range of career presentations that can be delivered in classroom settings, student organization meetings, and other venues.
This Canvas site contains career presentations with presenter resources. The presentations are created for in-person presentations, but tips are also provided on how to modify materials for a virtual presentation.
Each presentation includes:
- Overview of the topic
- PowerPoint slides
- Facilitator’s lesson plan/script
- Active Learning focused activities with instructions
- Additional resources
The presentations align with our Career Journey model, a visual framework that illustrates the career development process and guides students through key stages of exploration and planning.
When working with students, we help them identify their place within their unique career journey. Understanding their current phase within the Career Journey model enables students to access the most relevant tools and resources needed to progress to the next stage.
The career presentations are aligned with each phase of the Career Journey model. These presentations also integrate the NACE Career Competencies helping students recognize that every experience—academic, extracurricular, or professional—offers opportunities to develop valuable skills.
To navigate the site, select a career presentation topic and review the related materials. If you have questions about any of the materials on the site, contact Sue Pye, Director of Career Discovery at spye@rutgers.edu. For more details about Career Exploration and Success and our available resources for students and campus partners, go to the CES website. If you would like to submit a presentation or employer participation request, go to the About CES section of our website.
