Course 1 - Management and Supervisory Skills

This course is the first course of an eight-course series for certification of School Transportation Supervisors of New Jersey.  

The purpose of the  course is to teach perspective School Transportation Supervisors basic management skills that are required to oversee the transportation functions in a New Jersey School District. 

Students in this course will strengthen their knowledge and management skills by:

  • Formulating Goals
  • Considering Leadership Styles
  • Developing Organizational Processes
  • Best Practices for Hiring, Evaluating and Disciplining Staff
  • Staff Motivation and Team Building Techniques
  • Building Internal and External Communication Networks 
  • Ensuring Compliance with Driver Certifications 

Materials Required:

  • Computer, Tablet or ios device with internet access
  • Download and Print Student Manual 
  • Highlighter 
  • Course will meet on Webex
