This is an online program that culminates with an in-person presentation. It requires completion of training materials presented in four self-paced modules. You can complete online instruction whenever it is convenient for you before the in-person final presentation. You may leave the Canvas training and come back to resume your work where you left off, at any time. It is important to plan your time on task in manageable chunks so that you can comfortably complete each topic in each module. that must be submitted and score a minimum of 85% before progressing to the next module, for Modules 1-3.
- An Assignment

Lesson Pages
Lesson Sections Explained
Lessons can be accessed from Module Overview pages or directly using the Modules section when all prerequisite tasks have been marked done. The following explains what you'll find in each Lesson page.
Section | Description |
Every lesson begins with a quiz question to help learners identify what they may already know about the topic and orient them to the upcoming content.
Lesson content is delivered in an interactive PlayPosit video (see Navigating PlayPosit Interactive Videos below) each ending with Knowledge Check questions. Learner interactions include button options to navigate video, reflection questions, multiple-choice questions, check-all that apply questions, fill-in-the-blank questions, and long answer questions. These ungraded interactions are intended to promote learning and engagement.
This section contains additional resources. They may be downloadable files or web links. |
Guidance for Navigating Modules
Task Order
- For Modules 1-3, you must complete the Lesson pages
and Knowledge Quiz
in sequential order. You will not be able to move to the next item until you complete the prior page and select Mark as Done
or click the Submit Quiz
button after completing any quiz.
- For Module 4, in addition to completing the Lesson pages, you must complete an Assignment
which will require a video upload, before clicking the Submit Assignment
button. Detailed steps are provided in the assignment instructions. Completion of this assignment will open a Final Presentation module with instructions for scheduling a live presentation to complete the program requirements.
- When Modules 1-4 have been successfully completed, the Final Presentation module will become available where instructions on how to prepare and schedule your final presentation for evaluation are provided. The Train-the-Trainer Final Presentation Assignment outlines the requirements of your live presentation, which will be delivered virtually via Zoom. There is nothing to Submit in Canvas for this final assignment.
Progressing Through Modules
You can see your progress in the workshop overall from the Modules section. Your progress will be evidenced by sequential green check-marks to the right of each module item. Only required items will be marked off with a green check-mark to the right of the item. All required items following will be greyed out unless they directly follow a completed item, because each item is released upon completion of its predecessor.
Using the Module Progress Bar
There are progress bars at the top of lesson pages that simplify navigation and give you a view of where you are in the completion of the content in a single Module. The progress bar below shows the participant that they are on a Page that is item 4 in a Module with 6 items.
Unlocking the Next Module
You must "Mark as Done" any items that require that action and achieve a score of 85% or better on any quizzes or assignment in order to unlock the next module. When you try to advance to the next module before completing all the prerequisites for that module, you will encounter a page similar to the one below, explaining what items must be marked as done or the required score to unlock the next module.
Navigating the PlayPosit Interactive Videos
The content of every lesson in this workshop is presented in an interactive video called a PlayPosit bulb. These are videos that are embedded with interactions that require learners to take some sort of action.
Play and Rewind a PlayPosit Bulb
- To play a video bulb, simply click the blue Play button on the middle of the screen
- The controls on the video progress bar across the bottom of the screen offer several viewing options. See image below. Note, a video may be set so that dragging to a desired location is not allowed.
- Some videos are not linear. They may provide options for exploring video topics in the order of your choosing. Videos may also pause to allow time to read the information on the slide displayed. Follow on-screen instructions offered in the interaction panel at different interaction locations across the progress bar to continue or move to a different video location.
Answering Questions
Questions may also appear at interaction locations on the progress bar. Be sure to click the Submit button to enter your response.
