Presenter:

Ken A. Verni, PsyD, is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years experience supporting families and youth in New Jersey in both psychiatric and community settings. Dr. Verni is a Training & Consultation Specialist with Rutgers-UBHC Behavioral Research & Training Institute, and Director of the New Jersey Center for Mindful Awareness. He is a long time student and practitioner of Mindfulness Meditation, who has trained in MBSR with senior staff from the Center for Mindfulness at UMass. His dissertation "Sitting Still in the Midst of Change" explored the use and potential impact of mindfulness practices with adolescents and he was selected as the lead Mindfulness Instructor in a research project exploring mindfulness interventions with adolescents, funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
